During May 2003 we're celebrating 18 years in business. What a change from our first few weeks at Richardson Place in Downtown Burlington back in 1985! Back then we featured solid oiled oak butcherblock kitchen tables that were tough and cheap (if we recall, $159. for a 36x60 kitchen table), but looked like truck bed liners! Each month we select what lines and items will be included in our current sale. Let’s face it: sales have become a part of retail life. They provide savings for you, the homeowner, and they help the store feature new items, clear out old ones, and attract shoppers to visit.

Some stores tend to feature brief sales designed to create a sense of urgency in shoppers, so people often end up taking something on impulse that isn’t really what they need or want for their rooms. With furniture purchases we’ve found that it often takes longer to make the best decision. You may need to go home and measure your room, sign out fabrics to try at home, or visit the store several times to nurture your creative process and learn what’s available. So we aren’t as aggressive as most stores in advertising our sales, and we keep them in place longer.
